RitMeter

Guessing the correct mileage when reporting it to your employer or accountant is never a good idea. If you submit a mileage that is too low, you end up paying more yourself. If you submit a mileage that is too high, you will have problems with tax inspection. No, you better get it right the first time. With an app that registers your mileage such as RitMeter.

How does it work?
Before setting off, you enter your mileage in the app and indicate whether it is a business trip, commute or private trip. Once you arrive, you end the trip in the app. The app automatically records the number of miles (you cannot mix kilometres and miles, it is one or the other) and saves this in your Ritmeter overview.

You receive a weekly or monthly report in your mailbox. Even better, you can export your info at any time in an Excel file for your accounts. You can also very handily link several cars to the RitMeter so that, as a company, you have an overview of the entire fleet.

Suitable for: iOS and Android
Price: from €2.18 per month

Audible

You want to spend your time stuck in traffic doing something useful? Then Audible is what you need. This app lets you download audiobooks as well as exciting podcasts. This way, you can dive into a story or learn a new language. Or how about guided mindfulness?

How does it work?
Audible was acquired by Amazon in 2008. This is definitely a good thing because it means that Amazon, and therefore also your Kindle Store, are linked to each other. Do you already have the Kindle version of a book? Then you can buy the audio version at a discount.

You can find audiobooks in the language of the region for Amazon/Kindle. Of course, the English book collection is the largest. Each audiobook in Audible is divided into chapters and you can see how long they are. You can determine the playback speed and there is even an option to share audio clips via WhatsApp or Facebook.

Suitable for: iOS and Android
Price: $14.95 per month

4411

In many places, paying your parking ticket cash at a ticket machine is no longer the only option. Now, you can often do this via SMS or an app. But the app that stands out in terms of efficiency, especially for businesses, is 4411.

How does it work?
The app 4411 lets you or your employer conveniently pay for parking tickets, bus tickets and electric charges in Belgium and the Netherlands. Simply activate your parking in the app and turn it off when you leave. Each month, you will receive an invoice with your payments, which means that the accounts are correct, too.

Why is that so convenient? With other apps, and also for bus tickets, the payment is done via your mobile phone subscription. That means more administration, especially for companies with dozens of subscriptions and company cars.

Using 4411, it is very easy to create different profiles, all managed by one company. Or you can easily create a private and professional profile to keep costs separate. As a company, you can also impose restrictions so that, for example, only parking fees during working hours are invoiced.
